3/04/2020: Schools and Nursery are now closed until further notice.
We hope you are all settling into a routine at home (having a clear structure to your day is essential to success). The next two weeks would normally be the schools Easter holiday so there is no expectations that children will be ‘working’. All resources for maintaining learning at home can be found in our HOME LEARNING tab but we will not be opening up the learning for Week 3 until Monday 20th April. Teachers will continue to add materials and links to supplement the weekly learning plans at the start of next term. Please see guidance information in the Important Information and Letters to Parents section – we do not expect all of this work to be done!
Teachers will continue to monitor children accessing purple mash, School360 and TTrockstars and are able to send encouragement via the built-in communication within these platforms. Please encourage/help your to children access these resources, thank you. Even though we are not expecting children to be doing school linked home learning over the Easter break keeping up with their reading as usual over a holiday period is recommended. If you need another book for your child to record their home learning please use your daily exercise to pop down to school – we will put new books outside school each day next week between 9am and 3.30pm for you to collect. Please observe social distancing rules if you do come to school.
Our skeleton school for children of key workers and vulnerable children has been operating well and we have a good picture of current needs. We are operating following the government and health guidance to only have children and staff in school if no other provision is possible. This is to reduce interactions and slow the spread of the virus. If you are a key worker or have vulnerable children and you are unable to organise suitable and safe care for your child/children please get in contact with us to discuss what we can do. If your circumstances change and you think you may need help over the Easter school holidays please get in touch. Call us on 01668 281470 (if we are unable to answer please leave us a message on the answer machine which will be checked daily). You can also contact us via email at woolerfirst@woolerandglendale.co.uk – this email will also be checked daily.
We have recently uploaded more information and guidance for families with regards to keeping children safe online and supporting children’s mental health – they are in the Important Information & Letters to Parents section of the HOME LEARNING tab.
Keep safe
Mr Deane-Hall

 ARTSMARK 2019

We are working to improve the arts within our school. These pictures show a fantastic collaboration between our year 1 & 2 children with year 7 & 8s from Glendale Middle School. This was in partnership with Woodhorn Museum and will continue over for three years. The children worked alongside artists Amy Lorde and Judith Davies to create a live art installation piece within our woodland area. All children across both school took part in a fantastic Arts day in July 2019.
