SEND Provision at Wooler First School

At Wooler First School we recognise that all children have the right to be educated alongside their peers, despite their individual special needs or disabilities. We seek to create an inclusive environment, whereby the teaching, learning and wellbeing of every individual is at the heart of our school ethos. In line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015) we adopt a graduated response in supporting children with SEND. We endeavour to recognise and respond to individual needs in a positive way and we have a wide range of provision available to support children. All staff have high expectations of all children in our school and strive to ensure they all reach their full potential.

There is a link to the SEND Code of Practice (2015) document below, which explains the duties of local authorities, health bodies, schools and colleges to provide for those with special educational needs under part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014. This will outline the statutory guidance with regards to the provision for children with SEND.
